Forecaster Trading System

This is a unique stock market timing system I have developed and traded for a couple of years. It is designed to trade leveraged mutual funds and ETF's using a daily call near market close as to the next day's market direction. The system has potentially large returns and hence potentially large losses. Use at your own risk.

System Rules

A list of rules used to trade with as system evolves

Use 3:50 price as closing price to determine next days direction.

For reporting purposes and hopefully to increase gains, the domestic calls will be tracked as if traded with 3X leverage and Emerging at 2X. In periods of higher volatility I may reduce this to 2x for domestic calls. (As of 5/6 went to 2x domestic ) will use 3x for domestic calls as of 4/1/11.

A variable percent of total account will be allocated by system each day to Emerging Markets and Domestic Markets.

I also post a percent of total portfolio to be traded each day. this is done by "gut feel" at this time.

The call with the bias is the call generated by the "old system"...last year's system.

About Me

My photo
Forecaster
I originally developed this stock market timing system to trade leveraged mutual funds within a retirement account. It appeared that traditional "buy and hold" strategies would not generate the returns I desired in the time frame I needed. I wanted a mechanical trading system that took the emotion out of making decisions about the future moves of the markets. This system gives a "end of day" call for the next days market direction. On some days it requires some input from the trader as the signal may be dependent on the closing price of a particular index. It can be traded using etf's or mutual funds. This blog is for entertainment purposes and to track the development of this system. It is not intended to be used as advice. Use at your own risk!
